Although we wouldn't say no to a visit from Carol Smellie and 'Handy' Andy, we think that Wavell's current property value is pretty unique - it's comfy, modern and cheery too (OK, Monday mornings are an exception...) As far as we're concerned it's getting better all the time - and we're looking forward to seeing what changes are in store for 2003/4!!! Mrs Adams
CHECK OUT THE TALENT
After last year's talent showcase, the committee decided that this year's Wavell Talent Show had to be even more of an extravaganza than our 2001 debut. After a very lively meeting in the Autumn term, it was decided to make the talent show a charity benefit evening and we voted to give all of the money we managed to raise to Stirling Women's Aid to help them to have a happier Christmas.
The auditions this year were even tougher than before; there was such a huge range of ages and songs which made the judges' jobs very difficult indeed. And the 14 acts ranged from the spectacular S2 group act, the 'Glitter Girls' to the secret Sixth -Year singers, who unveiled their amazing hidden talents.
We had representative acts from every year group and there was even more effort made with costumes, hair and make-up than the year before, making it a very glamorous night indeed. It was great to see the new additions to the house - our Sl 'Kittens' - strutting their stuff and singing into their hairbrushes and also very impressive to hear our singing and song-writing combo, 'Innocence' perform their very own song.

The show was 'directed' by Miss Johnstone and Mrs Howie who performed an amazing range of roles: from constructive criticism - trying hard not to sound too much like 'Nasty Nigel' l.ythgoe, to hair and make-up that Nicky Clarke himself would be proud of. We'd like to thank them for making it all possible and praise them for the tactful encouragement that they gave to some of the 'dodgier' acts. We'd also like to thank our panel of judges, including Miss Smith and Sister, who had a very difficult job to do in judging the talent and ensuring that all their hard work was rewarded.
Including the committee's competition to guess how many "Celebrations' were in our prize-winning tin (Won by Karen Harrower from S2), the whole 'Star studded' evening managed to raise over two hundred pounds for our nominated charity. The committee would like to take this chance to thank all of the staff and pupils of QVS who supported our event for this very deserving charity, managing to combine a good night out with a very worthwhile cause. Look out QVS, you have been warned, the Talent Show 2003 is going to be bigger... and better than ever!!'
