The season started with a few apprehensions but after the opening game the team settled down and began to play some great hockey.
Throughout the season the entire team has demonstrated real determination. Living up to the standard of past teams was daunting but with coaching from Miss Scott things took shape early on in the season. There was naturally the odd scream and a few tears shed but nothing which affected the high level of performance shown in all games.
It is encouraging to see the younger members of the team developing steadily with Carly MacDonald (S3) being one of the top goal scorers. Pippa Roessler is to be congratulated on her effort and commitment to the team. She has been awarded player of the year and has continually put her blood and sweat into her own performance (literally!!).
We ended the season in excellent style with a 9-0 win over St Margaret's, which was more than we could ever have asked for. The past season has definitely stood us in good stead for the coming year; with little change to the current team we should be even more effective with regards to team-work.
Games Won - 9 Games Drawn - 2 Games Lost - 2

S3/4 HOCKEY
Although our season has been relatively short this year, we have worked hard and played well as a team. After losing 2-0 to Fettes at the start of the season we came back with a convincing 2-0 win over St. Margaret's, whilst playing against an old team member. We were scheduled to play another four games after the Christmas break though only managed to play two due to the weather. We held on for a 2-1 win over Mary Erskine's but ended the season on a low, losing to Kelvinside 3-1.
I would like to thank, on behalf of the whole team Miss Scott, Miss Smith, Alex and Claire for their support and coaching. The team would also like to send their best wishes to the greatest left defender QV has ever seen- victories will never be the same again!
Claire Greenwood Captain S3/4
