Highland Dancing

I was very proud of the way the school's young dancers carried out the responsibility of performing so excellently at the Royal tribute last summer. At the Argyllshire Gathering they carried on -with the winning ways that have become expected of them.

While writing these notes we are preparing for a busy summer term which will see dancers performing at the Combined CCF Beating Retreat, the Lord High Commissioners Dinner and the Lord Provost's Reception for the Tattoo Corporate supporters. All junior dancers will sit UKA exams in May with senior dancers sitting exams in October.

The dancers continue to improve on their

already high standards and are looking forward to performing at the Edinburgh Tattoo this summer.

The Highland Society of London Prize 2001 winner is Christopher Harris. Christopher has been an outstanding member of the dancing team; the new prize for the Most Improved Junior Dancer is awarded to Aaron King - well-done Aaron.

I must thank the senior dancers who are leaving this year; Darren Farr, as Principal Dancer, has been a willing, cheerful support all the dancers-including myself; Christopher Harris, Stuart Ruthven and Helen Onslow for all their help and support throughout the time they have been dancing.
