Hobbies

ELECTRONICS
A small group of us embarked on a course on Electronics and Microelectronics following a set of ten cassette tapes and film strips produced by the BBC "to provide a bridge between basic Physics and Microelectronics and demonstrate the relationship between the science and technology of Electronics". Although there weren't many members in the Electronics hobby, this was all the better for us! We thoroughly enjoyed it. Each person worked on one kit, learning about different components leading up to the construction of a 4 bit binary counter which did work! We listened to cassettes and watched film strips instructing us how to build the kits and explaining the operation of the AND, OR, NAND and NOR GATES we had constructed. I hope that a few more interested members will join us next year. On behalf of us all I thank Mr Paterson. The members this year were D. Barclay, I. Barclay, G. Hunter, M. C. Shaw, P. PHOTOGRAPHY
